From
hurricanes on the East Coast to roaring
wildfires in
Alaska
and
Arizona
, American Red Cross volunteers
nationwide are rushing to meet the
emergency needs of disaster victims as
weather calamities crisscross the
U.S.
The emergency needs are unique to each
situation and local volunteers know and
understand their communities. So whether
it’s a shelter or a hot meal, the Red
Cross is going to work to make certain
those affected by a disaster have their
needs met. But even as the smoke
thickens and storm clouds loom over
large portions of the
U.S.
, Red Cross volunteers nationwide remain
ready to respond at a moment’s notice
to whatever weather conditions may
strike in their community.
The Hazleton Chapter’s
emergency response to each and every
local disaster provides victims with the
essentials of life and is made possible by the
generosity and caring of the American
people. Direct financial
assistance is given for clothing,
food, shelter and prescription
medication.
Be Red Cross Ready…Now more
than ever before, our goal is to raise
community awareness and help families
prepare for disaster.
Red Cross Relief offers HOPE
to the families devastated by disaster.
Your support allows us to be there
during a crisis.
Last
year this organization assisted the
victims of more than 72,000 disasters
– from fires that affected a single
structure to large-scale events such as
hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and
wildfires. Along with International Red
Cross we responded to international
natural disasters and other humanitarian
emergencies such as unsafe, non-potable
water, mass starvation and
life-threatening diseases such as
measles.
If
you are part of, or witness a disaster,
